Adventure Training within the ATC is considered an important activity, as it teaches cadets a massive array of useful skills which they can put to use both in civilian and service life.
Adventure training consists of activities which test cadets mental and physical strength over various activities, and is generally a very enjoyable activity. The activities range from walking in the welsh mountains; canoeing and rock climbing, to assault courses on service bases and tackling initiative exercises.
Air cadets are actively encouraged to the part in as many of these activities as possible to aid their development as individual and gain the experience necessary to be appointed to an NCO rank. However, adventure training is by no means compulsory - if you prefer flying, by all means concentrate on that!
